Bloodhound Technologies was established in 2004 with the purpose of developing and commercialising real-time personnel tracking solution, suitable for tough operating environments. The aim was to deliver a hi-tech, simple-to-use and reliable tracking solutions suitable for both indoors and outdoors use. The result was Bloodhound and the solution is now used in a number of large strategic locations including multiple industries across Southern Africa and future plans include offering the solution to the rest of the world.

In February 2010 Bloodhound Technologies sold a stake in the business to two leading private equity companies, Convergence Technologies and Altius Investment Holdings in a strategic investment designed to support the business through a rapid expansion period.
